Division 1, Immediate Past Area 3 Governor Jeffrey David Cox's area has been selected as a
2006-07 Distinguished Area. To become a Distinguished Area, an area must contain three or
more clubs and achieve four of the five following goals:

President Jeffrey D. Cox created a viewer video that was selected as a finalist for broadcast on
the 34th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Several videos were selected from the finalists for
broadcast . Watch the submitted video below.

Interactive Authoring and Display System (IADS) Basic and Advanced Training
Owner Jeffrey D. Cox completed a basic IADS software class on March 23, 2007 and an
advanced class on April 19, 2007 at Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Alabama Launchpad Business Plan Competition
Owner Jeffrey D. Cox created a business plan that completed two of the four competition
phases of Alabama Launchpad. The third phase winners were announced on April 20, 2007
and, unfortunately, the business plan of the organization I represented was not chosen. The
selection was made by venture capitalists who typically prefer products over services, and this
plan dealt with a service. The organization for which I wrote the plan will compete again next
year and plans to continue forward with the idea detailed in the business plan. Click here for a

First Place in Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest
Owner Jeffrey D. Cox tied for first place in the Redstone Arsenal essay contest in celebration of
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. He received a trophy and service/merchandise coupons at the
January 11, 2006 base-wide celebration. He also later received a coin and letter of recognition
from Brigadier General Phillips of the Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation.

by June 30.
- The clubs must achieve an average of one Advanced Communicator award per club by
June 30.
