In my position as part of the E2 Solutions product management team at CW
Government Travel (2004-2006), I provided design and content management as the
sole writer of E2 Solutions product documentation. E2 Solutions is a web-based
software program that is used by a number of governmental agencies, including the
Department of State, Department of Labor and General Services Administration. I
worked with a far-flung, diverse group of members of other teams. These included
quality assurance personnel in San Antonio, developers in Minneapolis, senior
management in Washington, D.C., account managers stationed at customer sites and
local help desk personnel.
Prior to being hired by CW Government Travel, I worked as a consultant for Carlson-
Wagonlit Government Services on evenings and weekends during my spare time while
working at Avocent Corporation as a full-time employee. I began performing work for
them when one of my co-workers asked if I could provide support for her documentation
efforts. I eventually began writing more and more of the documentation. I was hired
immediately when the Huntsville group decided that they would like to hire a permanent
business analyst. There is no better validation of the quality of one’s work than to be
immediately hired for a position.
